Our Purpose
NCFM's Mission StatementThe National Coalition of Free Men is a nationwide, non-profit educational organization that examines the ways that gender discrimination affects men. It also works to raise public consciousness about little known, but important, topics dealing with the male experience. NCFM sponsors a variety of projects and publishes Transitions: Journal of Men's Perspectives six times a year.
Our Chapter's Purpose
- To build a community of individuals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and surrounding areas who are aware of men’s issues and who share the general philosophical position of NCFM with regard to gender issues.
- To provide a safe environment for such individuals to meet and share perspectives, knowledge, resources and support.
- To promote greater public awareness of men’s issues.
- To network and build bridges with other men’s organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and surrounding areas.
What We Do
- We meet monthly on the Saturday immediately following the 4th Friday of the month. Please click on "Get Involved" to the left for more information.
- We try to have at least two meetings per year involve an extra activity (Scarborough Faire, Dads Day 5k, BBQ, Movie, Horse-back riding, etc).
- We are building a community of male-positive individuals who value and support each other.
- We respond via letter writing campaigns to issues as they arise.
- We network with other organizations to raise awareness of men's and boys' issues.
- We maintain an email discussion list for announcements and ongoing conversations.
- We set up information booths and displays at relevant events and times of the year (please see our links under "Prostate Cancer Benefits" and "Awareness Projects").
