Projects/Events we have done (or do regularly):
JUNE: Dad's Day 5k Usually the day before Father's Day, this event is held in North Dallas. We have staffed an information booth at this benefit for Prostate Cancer Research. We talk about all kinds of men's issues, but especially men's health issues. For more information on the Dad's Day 5k, visit the Dad Fest website at DadFest.com. Join this event and make a difference!
SEPTEMBER: River Run 5k Usually in September (Prostate Cancer Awareness Month) at Le Graves Stadium off Main Street in Fort Worth. We will staff an information booth at this benefit for Prostate Cancer Research. We will be there to talk about all kinds of men's issues, but especially men's health issues. HOLIDAYS: Homeless Shelter Project This event is busier during the holidays, but it is ongoing all year. Each year, we are collecting items and/or donations for the Presbyterian Night Shelter in downtown Fort Worth. Please click on "Homeless Men" under Awareness Projects to the left for more information, or simply call the chapter to arrange your donation.
NOV/DEC: Holiday Gathering Late November or early December. This gathering will be at the home of one of our members and will most likely be pot-luck. Please call the chapter for more information if you would like to join us in a casual setting. (Not that our meetings aren't casual already!)
National NCFM Conference in Fort Worth August 13-15, 2004. Host Hotel: Green Oaks Inn on Hwy 30 in west Fort Worth. This was an amazing weekend of good friends and lots of great planning for the future of NCFM and the men's movement. If you missed this conference, please start saving now to get yourself to our next Face-to-Face. All NCFM members are welcome! The next conference is tentatively planned for September 2007 (San Diego and Minneapolis are possible locations). This will be the 30th Anniversary of the National Coalition of Free Men!!!
